Following the announcement of Tommy Fleetwood’s unexpected presence at a LIV Golf tournament, the professional golf world has been a flurry of activity. Fleetwood, who is renowned for his charm and superb iron play, had long been viewed as a possible choice for the breakaway tour, all set under the support of Saudi Arabia. Recently, his attendance at the LIV tournament sparked a flurry of speculation regarding his future among pundits and golf enthusiasts. Was this a precursor to the upcoming events?
Fleetwood clarified that his only goal was to observe a LIV golf event. He had some free time and was already in Nevada, visiting his coach, Butch Harmon, where he remarked, “I really didn’t think much about it. Lots of us talk about LIV but never see it, so I wanted to see what a tournament was like.” In addition, he made it clear that he wanted to catch up with friends who were currently performing on the LIV tour.
Tommy Fleetwood saw that the players were in a laid-back mood and praised their work ethic, claiming, “They are obviously doing pretty well for what they are.” He then went on to add this about the atmosphere as he mentioned, “The players seem to enjoy it, seem to enjoy playing on that tour; one of the first things I noticed was that everybody seems happy, chilled, relaxed.”

🚨🗣️⛳️ #NEW: Tommy Fleetwood talked about what sees from LIV GOLF after making headlines a few months back when he attended the Vegas event in person:

However, Tommy Fleetwood didn’t like all of the experience. “There are certain things I wasn’t used to; the music, I don’t know how I would feel about playing with that,” he added, but that didn’t put him off too much. Talking about the league, he said, “Everyone seemed very professional and working very hard. It’s basically just a bunch of people who you knew out here that are now there. So many things have just carried over.” Now, the question is, where does all of this lead to?
“The pressure is all but gone”: Fans bash
Fans on social media, however, took Tommy’s visit in a variety of different ways. With takes ranging from skepticism to outright disappointment over the golfer’s visit, some called him greedy, while others made fun of the events at LIV.
Adding to the buzz surrounding Tommy Fleetwood, one fan went on to rant about the unfair money that the players get even if they play badly. Additionally, he noted how the pressure is all but gone from the sport in a sarcastic comment
Wow relaxed and at ease. Easy to do when you have guaranteed money and are getting paid no matter how awful you play in the event as well. The pressure is all but gone for these guys. These are not tournaments, they are exhibitions at best.

Another fan highlighted that the problem with LIV Golf is the calm and chill atmosphere. They go on to support this argument by saying that the tense and competitive environment is what allows the sport to thrive. This is similar to what most fans of the Tour think about the breakaway league.
That's kinda the problem, you're not supposed to be "happy, chilled and relaxed" it's supposed to be tense and nervous, that's what makes it interesting to watch

One fan is particularly skeptical about the intentions of Tommy Fleetwood in visiting the event. He thinks that Fleetwood wants the money, going on to show how most fans have been betrayed so many times before when their favorites like Jon Rahm left the Tour, and now cannot see any association with the PIF-backed league without skepticism.
Tell me you are desperate to take the bag without telling me you are desperate to take the bag.

Lastly, on a similar note, one fan goes on to make fun of the other fans, especially fans of the Tour, about how disappointing this must be. To a fan of the tour, it is disheartening to see the members slowly dwindle away, and one can’t help but laugh at it.
