The last time Tiger lifted the Wannamaker Trophy was in 2007 at Southern Hills Country Club. It was his 13th major championship triumph with his win at Tulsa. Coincidently, it is the same venue that will host this year’s edition of the PGA Championship.

As a result, the 15-time major championship winner has various fond memories associated with the venue, and he has won the PGA Championship four times in his long and illustrious career.

Given that Woods made a last-minute decision to play at Augusta in April, it may not come as a surprise if he does the same at the 2022 PGA Championship. The former World Number One made a giant leap forward in his attempt to play at the event.

He flew to Tulsa on 28th April, Thursday using his private jet. Woods went down to the golf course to play a practice round before committing to play at the PGA Championship. Moreover, the 82-time PGA Tour winner wanted to evaluate his body and check how his body responds to the hectic schedule of back-to-back events before deciding to play.

This means he is making every possible effort to be able to play in the second major of the calendar year. Woods is also a part of the playing field and has registered for the event. But has not committed to the event. However, he has until tournament week to confirm his participation at the PGA Championship at Southern Hills Country Club.

Looking at his fondness for the event and the recent developments with his scouting session in April, it will be no surprise that Woods will be teeing up on Thursday in 12 days. However, the fans will have to wait to see if he feels physically fit to play at the event, which is the primary concern.
