The final roster of Woods’ TGL has divided the world of golf. After the release of the full list, the reactions from the fans were mixed, as many expected to see some big names lined up for the upcoming season.

Many of the players that have made a cut this season are fairly new to the professional game, and so fans are left curious about why some of the big names were dropped from consideration.

Nuclr Golf on Twitter recently clarified that logistically, it makes more sense to have players on TGL who live in and around the state of Florida for ease of participation. The current list has a total of 24 names that include American Ryder Cup players like Justin Thomas, Rickie Fowler, Patrick Cantlay, Xander Schauffele, Max Homa, and the European turf Ryder Cup monikers like Rory McIlroy, Shane Lowry, Jon Rahm, Tyrrell Hatton and many others.

However, a list of players who did not make the cut, which includes the likes of Scottie Scheffler, Jordan Spieth, Will Zalatoris, and Tony Finau, has been making the rounds. Under the post, fans expressed how they feel about the picks this time around, and quoting the tweet, a considerably new player claimed to reject Woods’ influence.

A Viktor Hovland-tracking account powered by Nuclr Golf quoted the tweet stating that the Norwegian was offered to join TGL but was mulling it over due to his already packed schedule. The tweet affirmed that Hovland finally, “decided against joining.”

What is the real back story behind the picks, only time can tell, but till then, here’s a rough sketch of what you can expect from the TGL greens in Florida this coming January.
