Netflix has made it into the hearts of the golf world now. With just mere hours left with the official launch of the golf docuseries, Full Swing, the anticipation has been bursting through many. But one big question is on every golf fan’s mind. Is the golf legend, Tiger Woods, a part of the series? Let’s dive into whether the 15-time Major winner has a role to play in the docuseries and how significant it is.

Tiger Woods’ role in Netflix’s Full Swing

Fans have noticed that the golf great is not part of the cast as per IMDB, and this has made many sad. But in truth, is there anything in golf that can truly exclude Woods? Well, if there is, Full Swing is certainly not it! Although he is not one of the stars featured in the series, the 15-time major winner has a lot of indirect influence on the show.

The show’s 6th episode, “Don’t Get Bitter, Get Better,” features Tony Finau and Collin Morikawa. But the episode also highlights how Woods inspired them; in fact, the episode title itself is one of the golf champion’s famous quotes. But the golf pro’s role is not limited to that.

Full Swing also portrays the effect the 15-time major winner has had on the development of the sport. Moreover, his return to the majors after his infamous 2021 car crash also plays across the series. And in even better news, it seems like Woods’ future in the series is entirely up to him. “The door is open for Tiger,” said Paul Martin, the producer of Full Swing, in a recent sit-down with talkSPORT.com“How could it not be?”

Martin added that although Woods didn’t have his own episode, he was involved in the show through every single golfer. “Every single one of them talked about how much of a hero Tiger was for them,” he claimed. “There wasn’t a player that, when we asked that question, ‘Who did you watch growing up? Who was your hero?’ Every single one of our cast said Tiger Woods.”

The streaming giant too may have never gotten around to making the show had Woods not grown the sport the way he has. The 82-time PGA Tour victor has been the biggest influence in the sport for the last few decades and perhaps will be for a few more. As for the show? It’s certainly up to him to decide where he has another message for everyone out there.
