The 2025 Team Cup promises to be a thrilling showdown as two teams of 10 players compete in a Ryder Cup-style event. With Luke Donald using the tournament as a valuable precursor to September’s Ryder Cup against the United States, the event offers a unique platform for players and future captains to gain experience in team competition.

Following Continental Europe’s 14.5-10.5 victory over Great Britain and Ireland in the 2023 edition, Francesco Molinari returns to captain the European team, while Justin Rose takes the helm for GB&I, setting the stage for an exciting clash of strategy and skill.

“This event provided valuable insight for several players who eventually made it to Marco Simone, with six of the 20 competitors in 2023 going on to play in the Ryder Cup, three of those making their debut appearances, and we’re excited to see who can make their mark as they try and earn a place in my side for New York City,” said Donald.

But the question is, will there be prize money for the players at the DP World Tour Team Cup’s second edition? Well, in its first edition back in 2023, before the European Team clinched the Ryder Cup trophy, the total prize money of the event was $2 million. Each member of the winning team, Continental Europe, took home $125,000. The players on the losing team also took home a portion. Each member of the GB&I team received $75,000.
