After a grueling contest at Augusta National, the PGA Tour pros will head 146 miles Southeast to the Harbour Town Golf Links. It’s time for the fifth Signature event of the year, the 2025 RBC Heritage. With another $20 million purse up for grabs, 72 of the best golfers on the PGA Tour will be indulged in an intense battle to bank the maximum on April 20, 2025. But will everyone in the limited-field event get a cut from the total prize money?
Well, that would depend on whether the tournament has a cut. Considering how the 2025 Masters Tournament was also a limited-field event and still had a cut, it would be interesting to see if the 72 players will face the same obstacle to qualify for the last couple of rounds this week. Let’s learn about the format of the 2025 RBC Heritage to confirm the same.

Will the 2025 RBC Heritage cut down the field in the third round?
However, will the ones who sit at the bottom of the rankings face any consequences for their bad run? Will they be eliminated from the tournament after the second round? As per the PGA Tour official website, the 2025 RBC Heritage doesn’t have a cut. That means all 72 golfers will be competing for the entire $20 million purse value. The winner of the tournament will bag a $3.6 million paycheck, and even if a pro ends at the bottom of the table, he will still take home around $40,000 in prize money.
Defending champion Scottie Scheffler will have a lot of pressure on him when he tees off in the 2025 RBC Heritage. Mr. Inevitable has been out of form all season, and losing the Green Jacket last weekend only made things worse. He might not face the threat of the 2025 Masters Tournament winner. Rory McIlroy and Hideki Matsuyama both have decided to skip the tournament. But Scheffler and 71 other players will all be competing for the top spot on the 2025 RBC Heritage leaderboard.

Having said that, what can the top 5 of the leaderboard look like in the Signature event? Let’s look at the best bets for the $20 million purse.

Favorites, challengers, and past champions
Despite bad form, Scottie Scheffler is the favorite to retain the title at Harbour Town Golf Links this year. However, he might face strong competition from Min Woo Lee. The Australian has already beaten the world no. 1 once in the 2025 Texas Children’s Houston Open. It won’t come as a surprise if he repeats the feat again in South Carolina.
What’s your perspective on:
Can Scottie Scheffler overcome his slump and defend his RBC Heritage title against fierce competition?
Have an interesting take?
Collin Morikawa has had quite a few near misses. It won’t be a surprise if he finally turns things around and grabs a win at the 2025 RBC Heritage as well. The same can be said about Justin Rose, who came very close to winning the 2025 Masters Tournament on Sunday. Rose will be looking to carry his great run of form to Harbour Town Golf Links and get his much-deserved win.
Other than them, Shane Lowry, Ludvig Aberg, Xander Schauffele, and Sepp Straka will all be yearning for a title win this weekend. Aberg and Straka have already triumphed at Torrey Pines and Pete Dye Stadium Course, respectively, earlier this year. Former champions Jordan Spieth and Matt Fitzpatrick can also be considered favorites to at least compete for the title if not win it from April 17-20, 2025.
