Winning an LPGA Tournament in your second year on the tour seems like a dream to many, but not to Bailey Tardy. The golfer made it a reality at the 2024 Blue Bay LPGA, where she claimed her first career win in just her second season on the LPGA Tour. Tardy’s breakthrough victory was all the more impressive given that she was in the midst of a missed-cut streak at the time. She held steady to take a four-stroke win, outlasting Sarah Schmelzel, who stumbled with three bogeys over her final six holes. Now, Tardy returns to the Blue Bay LPGA, looking to recapture some of that magic and notch her first top-20 finish of the 2025 LPGA Tour season.
The Blue Bay LPGA is wrapping up its 2025 tournament on the stunning Hainan Island in China. This four-day event is the final stop on the LPGA Tour’s spring swing through Asia, and it’s a real treat. The tournament brings together some of the biggest names in women’s golf, all vying for a share of the trophy.
The competition is fierce, with players like Ruoning Yin, Jeeno Thitikul, Minjee Lee, and Ayaka Furue showing off their skills. But it’s not just the veterans who are impressing – 14 rookies are also making their mark, including Ingrid Lindblad, Cassie Porter, Jessica Porvasnik, Miranda Wang, Fiona Xu, and Yahui Zhang. These talented newcomers are bringing a fresh energy to the tournament, and it’s exciting to see them hold their own against the more experienced players.

What’s making this tournament even more exciting is that it’s a no-cut event, meaning all 108 players are competing over the full 72 holes. This unique format adds an extra layer of tension and excitement to the competition, and it’s fascinating to see how the players are responding to the challenge.
