While destined to remain devoid of World No. 1 Nelly Korda’s presence this season, the format of the Aramco Team Series’ London edition comes prepared to give all golf lovers a packet full of joy. Uniqueness should be the PIF-presented series alias, as is evident from its all-inclusive format. From professionals to talented amateurs, there’s a seat reserved for everyone. Some of the world’s most refined talents will collaborate with amateurs in teams of four. These teams will consist of three professionals and one amateur. There will be 36 teams in total.

These teams will be chosen using a unique draft system that allows the captains to choose one professional golfer as a part of their team, and the other professional is allotted to them through a random draw. The team is then completed by adding one amateur to the smartly curated equation. The team event will spread over two days at the Centurion Club, and the winner will be deemed the fourth Aramco Team Series London Team Champions.

Further, in their bid to obtain a chunk of the $1 million prize purse, the 108-player field will also engage in a three-day 54-hole strokeplay individual competition. As is the traditional golf norm, the player with the lowest aggregate score will win the individual event and replace the absent defending champion Nelly Korda as this year’s champion. The London-based event will also have a cut. The field will be cut to the top 60 and tied after the team event is concluded on the final day.

In addition to the prize purse, the individual competition will also offer the winner a chance to improve their legacy. Yes, you heard it right. The event also encompasses important points for the Race to Costa Del Sol and Rolex World Rankings, making it even more of an enticing opportunity. So who are some players headlining the field in Korda’s absence?

Who are some of the field headliners at the 2024 Aramco Team Series London?

Two of the field headliners of this Ladies European Tour event remain the powerhouse Rose and Thorn duo, Charley Hull and Georgia Hall. While the World No. 8 has her series of awe-striking performances and her many almost victories from the last editions of the event to back her up, Hall’s presence becomes a noteworthy one due to her position as the defending champion of the team event of the 2023 Aramco Team Series London.

With her smooth swinging skills and her impactful leadership style, captain Georgia Hall led her team, comprised of Kylie Henry, Lea Anne Bramwell, and amateur Michael Austick, to victory last season. They finished 24-under-par, one stroke ahead of her BFF’s team.

Describing their strategy, Hall remarked, “Most importantly, when one of us was out of a hole, another player came in and kind of managed to save that par or get that birdie. We all got along really well, and we had a really nice,  fun group. And our amateur helped two or three times in the round, which was also handy.”

If all goes well, Georgia Hall and her team’s performance this year will be one to watch out for, as will the clash between Best Friends Rose and Thorn. On a side note, some other players to watch out for remain Thailand’s Patty Tavatanakit and the American duo Alison Lee and Angel Yin. Only time will tell who will win this unique event’s trophy in the days to follow.
