Sam Burns entered the week on no. 30 in FedEx Cup points, which is the exact cutoff for the Tour Championship. Right now he has 1752 points and he will be earning more points from the ongoing BMW Championship.

Though Burns entered the event exactly on the edge perhaps improving his stats at the game could lead him to a higher position on the FedEx rankings. However, maintaining his current ranking would also allow him to easily the event next week.

The top 30 players at the BMW will advance to the Tour Championship next week which will be held at East Lake in Atlanta. The prize purse is $75 million and the winner’s share will be $18 million along with the FedEx Cup title.
