“One thing is for sure: I wanted to finish my degree,” claimed Rose Zhang back in January earlier this year at the LPGA TOC. Despite turning pro, the golfer had made it clear that she was not going to give up on her studies. However, is that still the case? Because her latest move (in quite a literal sense, too) has filled fans with a lot of speculation.

Just recently, the Las Vegas Review-Journal confirmed that Zhang was shifting her residence and moving to Las Vegas. Becoming one of two pros in recent times to move their homes to Sin City, alongside Australian star Min Woo Lee, the one-time LPGA winner will now permanently reside there. Does that mean she’s quitting college, though? Well, based on her strong opinions on finishing her schooling, NO.

Stanford holds a special place in her heart, and since her many posts depict “Stanford fam forever,” it is more than likely that Zhang will study out of Vegas and add the commute to the list of things she juggles alongside her studies and professional career.

Zhang achieved a glorious start to her professional career last summer, later representing the U.S. Solheim Cup team. Despite her brilliant career start, the 20-year-old chose to juggle it alongside her college, describing them as “moving parts.” “It’s been fun,” she added, making it clear that she enjoyed both sides despite it undoubtedly being hectic.

Instead of being overwhelmed with her duties, the American star expressed gratitude for the chance to pursue her studies, noting that not many athletes get the opportunity to finish their education, and that was something she was looking to capitalize on. That, of course, means that in the coming years, the golf world will see a lot less of Zhang on the greens, but a lot less is still not none!

When could Rose Zhang next be spotted on the greens?

While, of course, the one-time LPGA champion will not compete on the Tour week after week until 2026 (which is when she graduates), fans will undoubtedly see her on the course once in a while. One of those will likely be a month and a half from now at the Mizuho Americas Open, where she made her debut last year and won. Zhang will almost certainly return this year to try and retain her crown.

Aside from that, the youngster will also perhaps not miss out on the chance to compete in the majors this year. So perhaps as early as next month, at the Chevron Championship, Rose Zhang could be spotted on the greens. Moreover, aside from the six events (5 majors + the Mizuho Open), she could also possibly play in some other big events if she’s looking to earn Rolex points and make it onto the field of the Summer Olympics!
