Not much time has passed since Rory McIlroy confirmed his divorce from his wife, Erica Stoll. Now, McIlroy recently announced that they have decided to stay together and start again from where they left off because they “realized that our best future was as a family together.” “We have resolved our differences and look forward to a new beginning,” said the Northern Irishman before the commencement of the 124th US Open. So far, the situation seems good, and the differences seem clear.
The couple has known each other for more than a decade now, since their first meeting at the 2012 Ryder Cup when McIlroy got late for his tee time because he failed to wake up on time. Stoll arranged for a police escort to take him to the course, where he arrived only 10 minutes before his match with Keegan Bradley.
They tied the knot five years later, in 2017. Stoll had been by his side throughout McIlroy’s triumphs and hard times in golf. Moreover, she had a connection with the PGA of America before she met her husband. Does she still work with the same organization? Let us get to the root of this.

Does Rory McIlroy’s wife work with the PGA of America?
Erica Stoll, now 38, had a notable career with the PGA of America before her marriage. She began moving toward a career in golf in the leadup to the 2008 Senior PGA Championship at Oak Hill in Pittsford, just outside of Rochester. There, she worked on-site as an office manager for the PGA of America, managing championship volunteer operations.
Furthermore, she admired the PGA employees for their demeanor and professional approach. As she told the Democrat and Chronicle in 2008, “The way PGA employees present themselves is so admirable and professional. That’s the kind of job I want, and it’s doing something I love.” Fueling her with the motivation to move a step further towards golf.
Soon after, McIlroy’s future wife became a full-time employee at the PGA of America in 2011, following which she remained as the Manager of the Championship Volunteer Operations at the same company for several years. However, after having a baby with the golfer in 2020, she shifted her focus to her family, and on her daughter Poppy. She appears to be just a loving mother to her daughter now. A lot of information has not been made public about Stoll, as she does her best to keep herself out of the spotlight.

How does Erica Stoll prefer to keep her life private?
Erica Stoll maintains a low profile despite McIlroy being one of the central figures in golf. She even has a private Instagram account, and rarely appears on her husband’s social media. Their wedding in 2017 also reflected this desire for secrecy, with details kept largely confidential.
Even McIlroy has acknowledged her privacy preference, describing her as someone who prefers a low-key existence. “She is a very low-key person, not the kind to broadcast stuff, but that side of my life is really good just now.” said the Irishman during an interview with the Irish Independent.

However, the golfer himself has been selective about media involvement, setting clear boundaries. For Full Swing — a Netflix docuseries starring McIlroy, he insisted that the filming be limited to his activities at golf tournaments, explicitly prohibiting any filming at his home, in his car, or involving his family.
