The Irish golfer made an appearance on this week’s episode of GOLF’s Subpar. During the episode, Colt Knost asked a series of interesting questions. However, the most intriguing question was about his headgear choice for this year’s Ryder Cup.
Knost asked him, “Will we be seeing a hatless Rory McIlroy at the Ryder Cup this year?” Without hesitation, McIlroy responded, “Yeah, I think so. I think my best Ryder Cups have been hatless, probably. Yeah.”
He also reasoned with the host about how the weather in Rome would be excellent for playing without headgear like a cap. Certainly, the seven-time member of Team Europe has his mind set on ditching the cap.
He concluded the discussion by saying, “I’ve got a pretty short haircut. I get a little bit of time on the forehead. I think that’s a good plan.” It remains to be seen, however, if this time’s hatless McIlroy will perform just as well as his previous appearances without a hat.
