Former world no. 4, Rickie Fowler has seen some major ups and downs throughout his career. Despite the inconsistency, he has still managed to bag 6 PGA Tour victories since his debut in 2009. And even when Fowler was not winning that many trophies, he was still finishing high on the leaderboard. We can see that in his 70 top 5 finishes in the last 15 years.
But the world no. 66 has never been so out of form as he has been in 2024. Fowler has struggled throughout the year and hasn’t achieved a single top-10 finish in 22 appearances during the main season. But it seems that things are about to change after the 2024 Zozo Championship. Going neck-and-neck with the likes of Xander Schauffele, Collin Morikawa, and the eventual winner; Nicolas Echavarria, Fowler was able to gain a 4th place finish. With that finish, Fowler also kept his 16-year streak of finishing top 10 in at least one event in a season alive. As we head towards the next event in the FedExCup Fall, will Fowler be a part of the entry list as he tries to build on his momentum? Let’s find out.

As we get closer to the end of the season, the 2024 World Wide Technology Championship will be another great opportunity for pros to make the cut for next season. Hence, we are sure to see many top pros who are close to the 125 rank range. However, there might still be a few appearances from players who have already confirmed their place in the PGA Tour season.
Some of the prominent names that will feature in the tournament include the likes of Beau Hossler, Tom Hoge, Max Greyserman, Doug Ghim, and many more. Last year’s World Wide Technology Championship winner, Erik van Rooyen is also a part of the list and will be looking forward to defending his title.

The PGA Tour Communications X account recently posted a list of the entry list. Unfortunately, one name that has not been enlisted for the tournament is Rickie Fowler. Fowler will definitely not be visiting the El Cardonal at Diamante in Los Cabos, Mexico to participate in the event. Sources have also stated that the 35-year-old will not feature in any other FedExCup Fall events. The next time he is scheduled to play is the Grant Thornton Invitational in December.

As it stands, there is a possibility that Rickie Fowler’s OWGR rank might rise higher than 125. But that still doesn’t mean that he won’t be able to get his PGA Tour Card. As per reports, he has an exemption for the next PGA Tour season thanks to his victory at the 2023 Mortgage Classic.
However, not participating in the remainder of the FedExCup Fall season will mean that he will miss out on some tournaments. Fowler won’t qualify for the 2025 Players Championship, the Arnold Palmer Invitational, and the Memorial Tournament until he has FedExCup Fall points in his bag. The first two events are scheduled for March 2025, while the third will be played from the end of May to June.
