Mickelson’s comments about Saudi and the gold league created quite the buzz in the golf world. Brands cut ties with Mickelson, who has been absent since his apology. The 2021 PGA Championship winner wrote that he made reckless comments and wanted to take a break from golf now.

His focus was on the man he wants to become, and his loved ones. Since then, Mickelson has not played any event. He even missed the Players Championship earlier this year.

After all, the Masters is a major, and offers the highest paycheck on Tour.

That being said, it will be odd at Augusta National without Phil Mickelson teeing off. Winning his first major in 2004 at the Masters, Mickelson went on to win two more in 2006 and 2010, respectively. Unfortunately, while Mickelson’s situation has received varied reactions, his absence on the course will certainly be felt.
