Patrick Fishburn is no stranger to being the ‘nearly’ pro on course. Of the 14 cuts he has made, he has finished 3rd twice in his PGA Tour career. He has also had multiple Korn Ferry Tour runner-up finishes and one PGA Tour Canada win in 2019.
Patrick Fishburn has recently started showing glimpses of his brilliance. His strokeplay has helped him gain a lot of attention from the fans. As everyone eagerly awaits Fishburn’s first PGA Tour win, it will be interesting to know more about his past. So, let’s learn more about his life.
Patrick Fishburn’s upbringing

Patrick Fishburn was raised on a horse ranch by Steve and Peggy Fishburn. His family is in the ranching business with horse ranches in Utah and Idaho. Steve was a football player who played college football for Weber State. Fishburn’s two sisters also play golf for Weber State.
The abundance of land available on the ranch allowed Fishburn and his two sisters to practice golf and pursue a career in the sport. Growing up, he studied at Fremont High School was the starting point guard on his high school basketball team, and was an all-state selection in 2011. He played golf as a junior there and also won the 2009 Junior Golf Player of the Year award.
Later, he enrolled at Brigham Young University, where he continued to play golf. During his 4 years at the university, Patrick Fishburn participated in 50 events, averaging 72.21. He turned pro soon after his senior year in 2018. Right out of university, Fishburn played in 19 PGA Tour Canada events from 2018-19, where he won 1 trophy.
As he started his pro career on the Canadian Tour, there have been misconceptions that he might be Canadian. However, Patrick Fishburn was born and raised in Odgen, Utah, and is an American. Before his short stint on the PGA Tour Canada, he spent most of his life in the States. He came back to the US to participate in the Korn Ferry Tour in 2020.

Before starting to play in KFT in 2020, in June 2019, he became the first player to receive a grant worth $40,000 from the Tony Finau Foundation. Finau’s foundation received a grant from the Korn Ferry Tour’s Utah Championship and Utah Sports Commission for mentorship of the up-and-coming golfers from Utah.

Fishburn’s journey on the PGA Tour
Patrick Fishburn had three full seasons of the Korn Ferry Tour. He made 56 cuts and has had 7 top-10 finishes. These included 2 runner-ups and 1 third-place finish. In 2023, Fishburn finished 19th on the Korn Ferry Tour points list and won his place in the PGA Tour season 2024.

As a rookie for the 2024 season, he has played in 25 events and has finished in the top 25 in 9 of the 13 cuts he has made in 2024. His best finishes this season were T3 positions at Procore and Barracuda Championships. He also finished T4 at the Zurich Classic and T6 at the 3M Open. He has earned $626,911 from the Tour so far, and he is also a part of the field at the 2024 RSM Classic.
