Golf runs deep in the blood of PGA Tour Pro Nico Echavarria. He had his first swing when he was just two and had no clue what it meant. Echavarria’s father and grandfather started his interest in golf, which led to him becoming a professional golfer.
He has two older brothers, Andres and Miguel. Andres has been a professional golfer since 2011 and is a 2X PGA Tour Latinoamerica winner. He has also played on the Korn Ferry Tour and competed at the University of Florida. On the other hand, Miguel played golf for the University of Michigan.
According to Golf Monthly, Nico Echavarria was born in Medellin, Colombia on August 4, 1994. This means he is Colombian by birth. Additionally, he also represents Colombia in professional golf and has done so in many junior-level international tournaments. Echavarria secured a third-place finish in the Junior World Golf Championship when he was still in high school in 2011. He graduated from high school in August 2012. He also represented his country in the Eisenhower Trophy in 2016, which Australia won.

Nico Echavarria turned professional in 2017, and just like his brother, he too played on the PGA Tour Latin America. He clinched his first professional win in August 2018 at the Abierto Club Campestre de Medellín on the Colombian Tour. The same year, he also won Sao Paulo Golf Club Championship and San Luis Championship. However, he aimed to make it to the PGA Tour, and he managed to earn his card for the 2022 season after he finished in the top 25 of the Korn Ferry Tour standings.
“I think my mom might be crying right now. I’m still shocked at the situation. I’m very proud of how we did with my team, my coach, my caddie, and my girlfriend here supporting me. I don’t have words right now with how I feel,” he said after finally making it to the American Tour.
