Is Nelly Korda still in a relationship? The World No. 1 has been in a relationship with Andreas Athanasiou since 2021. They have been spotted together a couple of times, and Korda has posted pictures of them together at their home as well. However, there was a lull in the couple’s activity. And in recent times, despite Korda’s historic feat, no public display of congratulations followed.

That kickstarted the rumor mill that the couple might have separated. More so, because earlier Korda’s NHL Pro boyfriend had caddied for her and traveled with her as well. Although that has not been the case lately, the couple is still hitting it. Korda most recently shared an update on her Instagram story celebrating their years of togetherness.

Athanasiou currently plays for the Chicago Blackhawks. The 29-year-old from Woodbridge, Ontario, Canada, has scored two goals and bagged seven assists this season. Before joining the Blackhawks, the Canadian international played for the Los Angeles Kings, Edmonton Oilers, and Detroit Red Wings. Interestingly, he was also part of the U-17 World Hockey Challenge winning team.

Although the couple’s relationship timeline is not known, Korda and Athanasiou started dating sometime around 2019. That’s when Andreas Athanasiou was carrying her bag. At one point, he was on the road with Korda for three straight weeks. Recounting his experience, the 29-year-old later said that those were a “great couple of weeks!” Interestingly, the NHL forward also fielded requests from her fans graciously. Nelly Korda returned the favor later.

Korda visited her boyfriend’s country two years ago, although for a very professional reason. She teed off at the CP Women’s Open at the Ottawa Hunt and Golf Club. Her appearance came on the hills of Athanasiou’s $3 million deal with the Blackhawks. In support of her boyfriend, the Florida resident sported a Blackhawks jersey on the 17th hole. That has been one of the rare instances of the couple’s public display of affection for each other. 

They mostly keep their personal lives private. Korda’s social media handle is the primary source of her career-related posts. Whereas, her boyfriend is a social media hermit. Andreas Athanasiou has over 40K followers on his Instagram handle, including his girlfriend’s sister, Jessica Korda, and her close friend, Megan Khang. Funnily enough, he has yet to post a single piece of content on his social media handle. Nevertheless, Korda occasionally offers updates, like the most recent one. There have been no talks about their marriage yet.
