But the greens of the Earl Grey Golf Club are going to miss one particular player in the tournament. The World No. 1 Nelly Korda has decided not to compete in the tournament. As per the playing field of the event that has been released, Korda’s name is not there, and the reasons could be many for her absence.

With the most common reason for any golfer to not compete or withdraw from any game being an injury, fans were relieved to know that wasn’t the case with Korda. Talk about a tough start! In the first round of the US Women’s Open, Korda made a score of septuple-bogey on a par-3 12th and missed the cut at the score over 10 over 150. The 2024 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship saw the golfer struggle with a score of 6 over 150, which led her to miss the cut. Her last appearance was in the Amundi Evian Championship, where she secured the position at T26. Although Korda didn’t play her best in this tournament either, she showed signs of improvement.
