“I want to play the best golf while I’m still playing, and that’s obviously the biggest goal for me right now,” said Lydia Ko after being asked about her long-term plans for golf. The 27-year-old, soon to be 28, has been open about potentially retiring around the age of 30, although she’s now taking things day by day. With a packed schedule of over 20 events this year, Ko is reassessing her energy levels and considering whether to play more or less. While experience has made certain aspects of golf easier, she acknowledges that the sport still takes a toll. Grateful for her accomplishments, Ko’s focus remains on performing at her best while she’s still active in the sport.
After clinching the 2025 HSBC Women’s World Championship with a score of 275 (-13), Lydia Ko took a well-deserved break before diving back into action at the Ford Championship presented by Wild Horse Pass. She finished T6 with a score of 270 (-18), showcasing her unwavering consistency and skill on the course. She then bounced back from a tough finish at the Founders Cup, where she scored 283 (-1) and finished T48. Earlier, she had finished 6th at the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions with a score of 275 (-13).
As Ko continues to conquer the golf world, speculation about her potential retirement has fans and pundits alike wondering what’s next. Well, we have the answer for that. Ko has confirmed her participation in the Chevron Championship, and fans are eagerly awaiting her performance.
