Up until now, it seemed John Daly’s only successor on the greens was his son. The two have paired up together at the PNC Championship, even winning the event in 2021. Daly, though, also has two daughters. The spotlight fell on them after an LPGA Pro emerged as the surprise protege of the veteran golfer, who is notorious for his fast-lane lifestyle.

John Daly’s two daughters, however, haven’t picked up clubs like their father. They have chosen two different professions, but that makes the 58-year-old no less proud.

Daly’s firstborn, Shynah Hale Daly, is a photographer. Shynah was born to Daly and his second wife, Fulford. The five-time PGA Tour winner filed for a divorce with Fulford a year later but maintained a cozy relationship with his daughter. Shynah has already launched her photography business, Changing Daly Photography. She regularly posts her works on her Instagram page.

The 1991 PGA Championship winner has supported her daughter’s dreams. “Shynah is a hell of a photographer,” the 58-year-old said in an interview with PGA Memes in 2022. Before turning to photography, Shynah also helped Daly in his shop.

In the same interview, Daly also offered an update on her second daughter, Sierra Lynn Daly, who she had with Paulette Dean, Not much is known about Sierra, except that she sells insurance, and lives in Hot Springs. So, Daly’s only successor remained John Daly II. Or so the world thought, until Charley Hull appeared at the Lancaster Country Club, ripping darts.

Charley Hull is the New John Daly of Golf?

Charley Hull channeled her inner John Daly at the Lancaster Country Club. With a lit cigarette hanging from her mouth, the British star was signing autographs for her fans. Now, Hull was famous for her strict gym regimen. She often posted clips from workout sessions.

So, the cigarette-smoking Charely Hull quickly went viral on social media. Comparisons with Daly, who often appears with a cigar hanging from his lips, were perhaps inevitable. Hull, notably, was spotted vaping at the 2023 Meijer LPGA Classic. Although the two-time Major champion didn’t comment on the matter, Hull was quickly dubbed as the LPGA successor of the 58-year-old.

And like Daly, Hull’s smoking on the driving range, also divided the Internet. While some users noted, that Hull was “John Daly’s long-lost sister,” others were not so happy with this. A section of them felt that this image somewhat dulls the appeal Charley Hull has enjoyed as a powerful LPGA Icon.

Interestingly, the picture eventually reached Nelly Korda as well, who showed it back to Charley Hull and Megan Khang. The three shared a hearty laughter before the first round of the U.S . Women’s Open started on Thursday.
