Legendary professional golfer Jack Nicklaus, who is an inspiration to all, has been in the news for quite some time. The golf star has been involved in various controversies throughout his career. However, the biggest question right now is if Nicklaus is going to play in this weekend’s PNC Championship.

Will fans see Jack Nicklaus at the PNC Championship?

Jack Nicklaus has been in the headlines for various reasons off the field. The golf legend is an inspiration to many and holds the record for winning the most major championships on the PGA Tour. The 82-year-old pro still has a lot of golf left inside him. However, fans are eager to know if Nicklaus is going to be on the field at the upcoming PNC Championship.

Nicklaus has had quite a history with the tournament. The golf legend and his son, Gary Nicklaus, have played in the Father-Son Challenge numerous times. The duo even won the tournament back in 1999. And on his return to the field for the tournament for the 14th time in 2015, Nicklaus said it was special to him for one reason.

“Although I don’t play much golf anymore, I look forward to every opportunity to play golf with my family,” the golf legend said. Keeping aside his emotional connection to the event, the golfer doesn’t have his name on the list of players this year at the tournament. However, other legends including Tiger Woods and John Daly along with their sons Charlie and Daly II are present on the field.

When Nicklaus played at the 2019 PNC Championship with his grandson

Nicklaus entered the field in style with his 17-year-old grandson, GT, back in 2019. The 18-time major winner also talked about the form of his game at the time. “I worked on my game the last month to try and get it in some semi-decent shape,” he said. He also mentioned that the field was full of talented players, so winning looked hard to him.

The G.O.A.T. also mentioned how he and his old pal, Gary Player, had played tons of tournaments together. He also said that his golf buddy was still in an amazing form on the field. Moreover, he called Player better than himself. “Gary and I have played a lot of golf together over the years…he plays a lot better than I do,” said Nicklaus. Nevertheless, fans will not be seeing Nicklaus this weekend on the field at the 2022 PNC Championship. However, they expect their favorites Tiger Woods and John Daly to have a memorable match instead.
