The golf world is currently headed toward the second major tournament of the year, the 2023 PGA Championship. The event holds a unique level of excitement among fans every time it approaches the PGA Tour schedule.

With the event scheduled from May 18–21, golf enthusiasts have already tightened their seatbelts for the upcoming tournament. And the thrill has gone up to another level ever since golf fans saw Phil Mickelson and other LIV Golf stars on the Masters field this year.

Despite all the previous bans, players were allowed to participate in the mega event at Augusta. And similarly, golfers from the breakaway circuit are now prepared to make an appearance at the PGA Championship. However, the only condition for them to be there is that they meet the qualification criteria for the tournament. But is LIV Golf’s Bubba Watson one of the qualifying defectors?

As per records, Bubba Watson already has two green jackets in his name. And therefore, he has earned his way to the Masters tournament for life. However, the golfer has expired his exemptions for making it to the PGA Championship and the other two majors. And therefore, he will not be able to make an appearance at the upcoming mega tournament. On the other hand, several other players including Phil Mickelson, Brooks Koepka, and Martin Keymar have qualified to be on the field for the PGA Championship this year.

Bubba Watson’s major victories
Before joining the LIV Golf circuit, Bubba Watson had a pretty decorated career on the PGA Tour. With 12 Tour wins and 14 runner-up finishes, the player earned his name among the top golfers in the American League.
