The Los Angeles Country Club will light up as the third major championship of the season takes on the North Course. All set for its grand entry on 15th June, the U.S. Open has been one of the in-demand topics in the golf world. Everything associated with the tournament has been difficult to miss. This encompasses the cash money, venue, and definitely the playing field.
Since the establishment of LIV Golf and the lack of OWGR points for LIV events, a big question mark has mostly surrounded the participation of its golfers in these significant events. Bryson DeChambeau is one of them. Let us find out if the LIV star would be participating in the third major event of 2023.

Will Bryson DeChambeau take on the greens for the 2023 U.S. Open?
As we head into the third week of June, the previous months of 2023 witnessed Bryson DeChambeau in two out of the four major golf tournaments. This includes the Masters and the PGA Championship. The 29-year-old didn’t have an ideal finish at the Masters 2023 as he failed to make the cut at Augusta National. However, he countered the performance with an excellent T4 finish at the second major in Rochester.
This time, the LIV Golf Star will be tested on the traditional layout of the North Course, one that is surrounded by the beautiful Beverly Hills. Despite his association with LIV Golf, Chambeau secured an automatic qualification for the U.S. Open. According to the regulations, his 2020 U. S. Open win sanctioned him a position on the playing field from 15-18 June.
Many might believe that with the billion-dollar handshake between leagues, LIV golfers might have an easy year ahead. However, according to the memo sent by the PGA Tour Commissioner, the 2023 season will go as it was planned. Only after its completion would the players from the LIV Golf be able to re-apply for their previous Tour cards. The intricacies of the merger haven’t exactly been laid out.

While the players from other leagues have been gathering OWGR points to become eligible for significant tournaments, LIV golfers couldn’t help but find other ways to qualify. One of them included exemption criteria for those players who have won the U.S. Open Championship in the last 10 years. That is exactly how DeChambeau confirmed his spot quite early this year.
Apart from him, other notable LIV golfers who will share the field consist of Dustin Johnson, the 2023 PGA Championship winner Brooks Koepka, Phil Mickelson, Patrick Reed, and a total of 11 LIV golfers.
