After starting as a rookie golfer on the LPGA Tour in 2015, Alison Lee is currently living her dream. Throughout these years, her parents have been her ultimate source of support. However, that doesn’t tell us everything about her early life; the golfer’s ethnicity also plays a role.
Alison Lee was born on February 26, 1995, to Sung Kim Lee and Johnny Lee, a year after their marriage on September 11, 1994. Her parents are originally from South Korea but later moved to the United States. Although Alison is of Korean descent, she was born and raised in Los Angeles, California, and holds American citizenship. The golfer has a younger brother whose name she has never revealed, but the siblings are 3 years apart.
Alison Lee also had a fur baby named Rocco, but she hasn’t posted any pictures with him since 2017. Lee hasn’t talked about her parents’ early life. However, it is confirmed that it was her father, Johnny, who built the foundation of her golf, while her mother also supported her in pursuing this dream. Johnny was her first-ever coach and mentor when she started hitting the golf ball at the age of six.

Thanks to her father’s support in the early days, she was able to join the LPGA Tour and is now making a name for herself at the 2024 Solheim Cup. The golfer carded an eagle from 86 yards on the par 4 on Friday. Witnessing that incredible shot, the caddies celebrated it and took their shirts off in front of thousands of fans on the greens. While her parents’ support for her golfing career has been clear from the start, what about their relationship outside the course?
Alison Lee’s relationship with her parents off the greens
Although the golfer doesn’t talk much about her parents, she occasionally posts pictures with them on social media. Interestingly, there is only a three-day gap between her and her father’s birthday. The golfer’s father was born on February 23. Back in February 2020, she shared a beautiful picture with her father on Instagram celebrating his birthday. In another post, the golfer also credited her father for everything she knows on the greens. As for her mom, Sung Kim Lee, she doesn’t post many pictures with her on Instagram.
