Does Jenny Shin's view of Trump as comical reflect a broader public sentiment?

A week from now, a different President will be in the White House. The preparation from the Democrats and the Republicans has been in full swing these past few months. And golf found its way into the hustle and bustle too, with the debate between Donald Trump and Joe Biden. The pair—in front of the whole world—sat discussing their golf handicaps! More recently, the former President even appeared on the Joe Rogan Podcast. His sit down there sparked talks from all around, including the LPGA’s very own Jenny Shin.

The LPGA star recently had to withdraw from the ongoing Maybank Championship after she endured a muscle strain and could not hit as before. So, with nothing much to do, Shin decided to follow the election from her home in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. And now she’s shared her thoughts on the matter.

Soon after watching Donald Trump on the Joe Rogan Show, Shin opened up about her take on Kamala Harris and Trump’s behavior so far. Before she said anything at all, the LPGA star first made it clear that she was not eligible to vote as she was a South Korean national. After that vivid disclaimer, she went on to cite her thoughts.

“Trump is speaking freely without too much guidance and Kamala is saying what she was told to say,” said the golf pro. Shin also stated that Trump’s Podcast with Rogan was something she enjoyed before adding, “The overuse of calling other people stupid from Trump is comical.” Perhaps that comical element is why Shin enjoyed the interview so much. Or perhaps it was just her boredom—because there’s a lot of that too.

Unsurprisingly, many fans left comments on Shin’s reaction post. The LPGA star interacted with many. And, after blaming “Elon” for her feed being peppered with politics she even thanked all her loyal fans for helping keep her occupied amid her injury. Thanks for the entertainment and responses, ladies and gentlemen.

Throughout all these political talks, not once did Shin reveal who she would vote for between Trump and Kamala. She claimed she was just enjoying the drama as an outsider. But from all her opinions, we just may know which side of the fence the LPGA star is on when it comes to the election!

Is Jenny Shin on Team Donald Trump or Team Kamala Harris?

When a follower of hers asked the golfer question if she could, would she vote for Donald Trump? The LPGA Tour pro said that she was “unsure” and explained the reason behind it. Shin rather liked that the former President usually spoke his mind regardless of his statements’ consequences. However, that, of course, comes with its perks and downside. Trump doesn’t seem like a politician. He blurts out many bizarre statements, it’s hard to say. And he says it on repeat. She also added that she felt like the former POTUS often said things just to excite the public, which means he’s not being truthful.”

On the other hand, when it came to Kamala Harris, Shin didn’t have a lot of positives either. “Kamala says the same thing over and over as well, like ‘that’s not my expertise, I’ll leave it up to whoever is in charge’,” she stated, implying that the candidate sounded like a puppet.

So it’s clear. Shin is neither Team Trump nor Team Harris. When it comes to the vote, she’s happy to be right in the middle on the fence, enjoying the “entertainment.” There’s probably no better place to be!
