The bizarre shooting tragedy at Fontana

The authorities stated on Wednesday that an armed off-duty deputy sheriff was shot dead by the Fontana police. The unfortunate incident happened as the officials responded to a call of shots fired near the Sierra Lakes Golf Club in a residential community by a woman who stated that her husband fired a gun inside their house that was situated near the links. Meanwhile, several other calls were also being made by people who reported an armed man near their homes.

The police found the man, who was identified as LA County Sheriff’s Deputy Alejandro Diaz, sitting near the greens a little before 4 O’clock. The off-duty officer raised his guns against the police, after which he was fired upon. The suspect was hit. He went down; he was treated by (paramedics) at the scene and transported to a local hospital in an unknown condition,” said Officer Daniel Romero while addressing the shooting.

A detective later came out to confirm the deputy’s death, after which the sheriff’s department issued a statement later that morning expressing their condolences and sadness for their colleague’s death. “We are in close communication with the Fontana Police Department and the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department as they conduct their ongoing investigation,” continued the department while mentioning how difficult the incident is for the family, personnel, and the involved police officers.

A neighbor, Myesha Dowe, came forward to comment on the deceased after the tragic news came out. Dowe mentioned how the officer who passed away was a good person who did his job well and was also a good neighbor. The lady recounted how she heard something like fireworks, after which Dow started to receive messages from fellow neighbors who saw the deputy armed and in anguish.

In another case that occurred outside the golf course, a 4-year-old girl was hit by a golf cart in Westland at Blues, Brews, and BBQ. The incident took place when the fire department’s dog jumped to the floor of the cart against the accelerator, leading the vehicle to steer forward and run over the left leg of the little girl.
