In a Bizarre Turn of Events, a Fire Department Canine Ran Over a 4-Year-Old With a Golf Cart at Westland

Golf is a sport that often experiences unfortunate incidents of one kind or another on the course. In an incident earlier this month, a 4-year-old girl met with an accident on a golf course out of nowhere. A golf cart carrying a canine ran over the little girl.

The peculiar accident has shocked the golf community worldwide. Let’s find out how such a weird incident came to pass on a golf course and what happened to the little girl. Did she come out unscathed or something heart-breaking happened?

The bizarre accident at Westland

A 4-year-old girl was hit by a cart at Blues, Brews, and BBQ in Westland on August 4. The unfortunate incident happened as the fire department’s dog, Bella, jumped down to the floor of the cart from the seat to lie down and rest. In the act, the accelerator pedal was pressed down and the cart started to move forward without any control.

Since the canine was on the floor against the accelerator and nobody was at the wheel, the buggy went ahead and hit the young girl and ran over her left leg. Even though the firefighters tried to steer it away from other people, it proved to be futile as they failed to stop the cart in time.

Fortunately, the girl was unharmed as the paramedics and the ladder men immediately rushed to the scene. As they checked her out, it was found that she had no injuries and was healthy. Moreover, her mother also declined to take her to the hospital.

The little child was up and running in no time. The department said she was perfectly fine as the kid was seen jumping in the fire department bounce house. Although everything turned out fine, more care should have been taken as the golf cart could have caused something serious on another day.

A golf course is known for its scenic beauty. They are usually very safe for the players and audiences. But despite all these, people sometimes face fatal accidents on courses. The Canyons Golf property in Utah faced such an incident in June where a man died on the course. It happened when the man was riding an e-bike. An accident happened which took away his life.

Another instance includes the Mill Creek Metro Park where a golfer met his end due to a falling tree. As two young lads were searching for their golf ball on the 17th hole, the big tree fell on the buggy instantly killing one and injuring the other.
