The golf world saw an amazing day of golf as the Saudi-backed league had its second day of the LIV event in Chicago on Saturday. Reed didn’t have a great round but he managed to do something quite out of the ordinary, reminding people of Rickie Fowler.

An Instagram post was uploaded by the official social media handle of the LIV Golf League which showcases the golfer hyping up the crowd at the 17th hole. The rousing up of the fans did appear to help as he at last managed to register a 1-under par on the second day.

Some of his followers couldn’t help but feel as if he was emulating his PGA Tour counterpart Rickie Fowler who once did the same during his play at the 16th hole of the 2020 WM Pheonix Open. The hole is famous for the huge stands built around it, making it no less than a party hole. The fans watching from the stands were made charged-up by the 34-year-old before he went on to score a birdie, resulting in massive cheers.

Reed pretty much experienced the same. One can safely say that even the defector would not have imagined such a reaction from the fans.

Party holes are all the norm now!

The golf fans were surprised to see the video where the 1X major champion roused the audience before hitting his tee shot. A lot of the enthusiasts had many things to say, ranging from reactions of amazement at the spectator response to those of comparisons between him and Fowler. Let us take a look at some of the comments left behind.

Fowler’s actions in hyping up the crowd and his subsequent birdie have become a part of the history of golf. And anyone doing the same would be compared to the PGA Pro and rightly so. A commenter wrote, “Rickie Fowler, Is that You?”

The golfer’s defection to the PIF-funded league and his previous antics on the course have earned him the wrath of the fans many a time. One fan brought those issues back to light. “Imagine if people liked him 😂.”

Another person was also expressive of his dislike of the 9X PGA Tour winner as they pointed out how he doesn’t have any fans left in an indirect manner. Accusations of cheating by even his teammates have earned him the ire of many in the golf community. The fan went ahead to comment, “It’s really the only time he’ll hear cheers.”

The LIV Golf event in Adelaide saw a similar party hole as they went ahead to replicate Scottsdale’s infamous 16th hole to provide a one-of-a-kind experience for the fane. Thus, the league used the par-3 12th hole at the Grange Golf Club, A.K.A the Watering Hole, to provide the same. Moreover, a fan, having the right to his own opinion, mentioned how the one in Adelaide was better as he commented, “Not as good as party hole in Adelaide.”

The new hole at Adelaide had stands running down the sides and around the greens enabling the viewers to have a closer experience with the game. They also had booming music in a bid to charge up the spectators similar to that of Chicago. Nevertheless, another enthusiast could only find comfort in the former as he mentioned, “Adelaide party hole >>> Chicago.”

One can’t help but take notice of the vibrant atmosphere of a LIV event. The same was the case here too as a fan commented on the lively crowd and its effect on the game: “Wow you fan feel the electricity in the air! 😂😂😂.”
