Phil Mickelson seems to have landed himself in another trouble after recent facts regarding his gambling habits have come to light. In his upcoming book, Gambler: Secrets from a Life at Risk, Billy Walters has accused Mickelson of gambling millions of dollars in the past three decades.

After the news surfaced, fans and golfers expressed their views on the matter. And jumping on the wagon is golf influencer Hailey Ostrom, who gave her opinion about the same. But the step has backfired on the influencer who is facing harsh criticism for her stance.

Being an influencer is not an easy task. While the positive aspect of the job promises fame and popularity, the negative aspects also offer criticism from the same fans. And while excelling in this field is Paige Spiranac who has mastered the craft of influencing, following not much far behind is another golf diva, Hailey Ostrom who also enjoys a substantial popularity among golf fans.

But her latest move proved to be disastrous for Ostrom when she in a manner sided with Phil Mickelson after his latest gambling news. Recently Golf Monthly shared a clip of Rory McIlroy who was taking a jibe at Mickelson’s situation by saying “At least he can bet on the Ryder Cup this year as he won’t be a part of it” at the St Jude Championship conference. Sharing the clip-on Twitter, Ostrom wrote “Making fun of someone’s addiction seems…pathetic.” But golf fans quickly called her out for being biased and gave her a very tough time in the comments section.

As a result, Ostrom has to make her defense with another tweet. “People calling me soft for defending Phil are the same people who attacked me for supporting LIV…but I’m the snowflake?? The best thing about opinions is everyone’s allowed to have one!”

While Ostrom has come in strong in her defense, her comments section is filled with people who are also criticizing Mickelson and McIlroy at the same time. Some are saying the Lefty has brought it upon himself with his actions while others are blaming the Irish golfer for behaving in a non-classy way with his remarks on the former.

Mickelson over the year has suffered from the habit of addiction which has followed him throughout his career. And in his upcoming book which is releasing in August only, his gambling partner, Walters has accused Mickelson of gambling more than $1 billion in different sports like football, basketball, and baseball. He also claimed that Phil tried to place a $400,000 wager on Team USA in the 2012 Ryder Cup, an event he was playing at.

This was a golden opportunity for McIlroy to speak against his rival which he didn’t let go and made a sneaky verbal attack on Mickelson. But sharing her views on the matter turned out to be expensive for Ostrom.
