Many famous people have copycats—people who mimic their every move and action. Social media has made copying others far easier than before. While many argue about the ethics of imitation, one thing is certain: It is a form of flattery for the individual. Paige Spiranac, who now commands a huge audience, now also has imitators.

While the blonde beauty was initially not pleased with her “blueprint” stealers, she now finds it “so cool.”

Paige was the first in golf to capitalize on social media

Spiranac now boasts a raging 3.7 million followers on Instagram and over 11 million across all social media. But it wasn’t always like that for her. She only blew up in 2015, going from 10K to over 100K in a few days, after TotalFratMove.com published a piece about her.

Since then, she has begun her journey to change the world using her online presence. With her current level of fame, the ex-pro golfer now has imitators. In a recent sit-down with Gary McCord and Drew Stoltz, Spiranac opened up about how she felt about these copycats.

Stoltz claimed that Paige was one of the “OGs” of the golf influencers. The social media icon responded, saying, “I am the OG.” She then went on to explain how she was the first one on the women’s side of golf to begin using “social media to push themselves forward.”

Paige Spiranac is proud of what she’s done for her imitators

Spiranac claimed that she paved the path for all her so-called imitators. She also admitted that at first, they frustrated her. She explained, “It was such a hard road for me, and then to see these girls, you know, copying what I wear, the captions, the clothes, how it’s shot, every little thing is exactly what I’ve done.”

But soon after, Spiranac’s opinion of them changed. She said she realized how “cool” it is that the younger crowd wants to be exactly like her. The blonde beauty now believes that the trophies are too much of an achievement because it means she was able to get more people interested in the sport.

She now agrees with Drew’s words, “Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.” Paige is proud of what she’s been able to do by helping “pave a path for women to now make a good career in a male-dominated industry.”
