PGA Tour pro reveals his unusual fear
They say fear is a necessity. It helps one grow and better themselves. Fear exempts no one, famous or otherwise. This PGA Tour pro also confessed to being afraid of something unexpected.
But who is this player? Well, apparently it’s none other than Joel Dahmen. Joel is an American professional golfer who won his first PGA Tour title at the Corales Puntacana Resort and Club Championship in the Dominican Republic last year in March.
Joel’s unusual fear is of having a job. Even though it may seem weird to most people, in retrospect, Joel has never had a conventional job. He started out his career as a professional golfer and the job he had to do was very different from the conventional notion of a 9 to 5 job.
He said, “I’ve been playing with fear forever since I got my Tour card really. I’m scared to death of having a job. I’ve never really had one. I don’t want to give this up. It’s one of the most coveted things in all of the sports is a PGA Tour card. Yeah, I just don’t want to give this up.”
This adds up as now even his winner exemption is over and a failure at not being his best can have serious circumstances for the pro. However, unlike most people, Dahmen does not let his fears get the best of him.
Instead, he uses them to better himself. This can be seen in how he made it through multiple cuts in the past couple of months and has been giving his best. Maybe they are right, fear sometimes is a necessity and probably even a boon.
Dahmen and his recent wild stunt at the Tour
In the 2022 WM Phoenix Open, the fan favorite Joel Dahmen showcased his wild side at the notorious 16-hole par 3. Dahmen and Higgs lifted their shirts in a fun stunt during the event.
Even the PGA Tour tweeted this photo and fans went berserk and turned wild as soon as their act saw the light of day. Social media was filled with diverse reactions.

When asked about the call received by them, Higgs was soon to respond. He said, “There was a phone call [from the Tour] and a, ‘Hey, you know you’re not supposed to do that.’ I know I’m not supposed to do that. I’m 30 years old, I know I’m not supposed to lift my shirt up on national television in front of thousands of fans.”
As a matter of fact, both these professionals are fan favorites. They did not disappoint their fans and strengthened their hold as probably the most loved ones in the sport.
