Did Phil Mickelson forget the PGA tour completely?
Yesterday, Phil Mickelson attended the press conference at Royal Greens Golf & Country Club in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. He was there ahead of the LIV Golf invitational series from 14-16th October 2022. He answered the question regarding LIV Golf and the PGA tour, along with changes in golf.
The reporter asked Mickelson about his expectations regarding the changes that appeared because of the existence of LIV Golf in the picture. Mickelson agreed that golf has significantly strengthened since the 70s and will keep evolving. The opportunity for someone to come and make the changes was open; hence, LIV grabbed it.
He then went into the reminiscence phase of his three decades on the PGA Tour. He said skilled players have played on the tour for at least 20 years.
However, many players have shifted to LIV golf and things aren’t the same. From now on, a side has to be picked, and he believes he is on the right one. He said, “And I firmly believe that I’m on the winning side of how things are going to evolve.”
Talking about sides, he further added that the world’s finest golfers are on the PGA Tour and on the LIV Golf, too. Both sides have to sit, talk and sort things.
