What Brian Harman portrayed on the greens for the last four days was spellbinding! He entered the final round of the Open with a dominant 5-shot lead over Cameron Young. While the wet weather did prove to be a little staggering for the American golfer, he eventually showed how skillful he is on the links. In short, the treacherous greens at Hoylake couldn’t have had a better winner than the 2-time PGA Tour winner with an astonishing 13 under-par finish.

However, even more unpredictable than his prepotent 2023 Open Championship win is how the golf professional is going to celebrate it. His definition of a post-victory festivity is a calm environment and a hauling reward, one he is really excited about!

As soon as the Georgia native putted his last hole and clinched that prestigious victory, the colossal $3 million prize money and Claret Jug were his for the year 2023. Hence, it was not surprising when one of the reporters, post-tournament, asked the golfer how the money would be used to celebrate the win. Given how much Brian Harman enjoys hunting as a hobby, the interviewer also asked if a hunting trip was on the horizon for the athlete.

Alas! Harman’s answer was a solid “no“. Instead, he revealed that just a couple of weeks ago, he purchased a new tractor for his hunting place. Thus, the golfer exclaimed, “I am excited about that.” He added that he was going to get home and mow the grass using his new vehicle.

And that is how the 2023 British Open winner is proceeding to mark his first major tournament triumph. Unsurprisingly, the reporter appeared to be taken aback by the golfer’s humble yet distinctive reply. Thus, he couldn’t stop himself from commenting that he had never known an Open Champion to celebrate by mowing grass on a tractor.

His statement received a chuckle from the professional, who in turn said, “I’ve got a lot of layers, man. I’m like an onion“. This drew laughter from other members present at the press conference as well. Interestingly, Harman’s celebrations also included keeping aside his phone while he enjoyed his time using the tractor, a.k.a. the new apple of his eye!

The PGA Tour Pro, while detailing his new possession, had a smile on his face. Even though he opened his disclosure with “I haven’t seen it yet“, the 36-year-old surely revealed as many features of the tractor as possible. He revealed that the tractor was a 105-horsepower Kybota and “a pretty one“. Harman had picked up the mowing vehicle in orange and was certainly excited for his first glance at it!

When inquired about how many acres the golfer is planning to mow, Harman’s undeviating answer was that they had nearly 25 acres of food plots, and then there were miles of road that also required care, so he stated that approximately 40 acres needed to get mowed.

The one-time major winner also got candid with the press about how he had not told his wife, Kelly Slyke, how much he had spent on the tractor, inducing chuckles yet again from the crowd.
