The game of golf has seen many bizarre incidents on and off the course. While the professional leagues see players duke it out on the field with their remarkable techniques and talent, there are cases where a pastime game of golf by random people can lead to odd occurrences. And so the gentleman’s game has seen its fair share of crazy stories.

One should keep in mind to be wary of their surroundings while playing the sport, as their shots can turn out to be dangerous for people or animals on the course. A recent reveal by a golfer of his experience has caught the golfing world in shock as he goes on to recount a very peculiar encounter he had on the course.

The weird encounter on the golf course

There have been cases where the game has seen many trespassers. A golf course is not just a venue for the human sport but even for several animals, reptiles, and birds. In a recent post that was uploaded by a Reddit user, he opened up to the community after asking a very specific but bizarre question, “Anyone ever hit an animal with a shot while playing?”. The question along with his own experience drove the internet crazy as people started to recount their confrontation with such animals.

The golfer went on to talk about how he encountered geese while playing golf, “They were absolutely everywhere. At least 200 geese throughout the course, all sh*****g on the fairways and greens”. He went ahead to mention how he set up the ball ‘figuring’ that the birds in front of him would not pose a problem as they weren’t in the way. But oh boy, was he wrong!

The golfing enthusiast hit one of his worst shots as the worm burner shot through and hit a goose right on its back. The bird went back to eating on the cheap course taking the hit like a champ. Although the golfer doesn’t have such high opinions of the birds on the ground, he went on to mention how he felt bad for it. Despite the fact that he hit a lousy shot, one can’t deny the love that the person has for the game as he was ready to play even in such unfavorable conditions with birds flying all around and on the ground.

As the love for the game increases, so do the amount of crazy stories surrounding it. As the post went viral on Reddit, it brought in a bunch of reactions and stories from golfing enthusiasts about similar situations that they faced. It ranged from people being extremely funny to crazy stories where they went ahead and hit an animal or a bird during their shot. Let us take a look at some of the comments left under the post:

There were a few comments which went ahead to talk about how their shots hit the water, “I’m sure I’ve hit a few fish or turtles.”

There was someone who hilariously recounted his father’s birdie, “My dad smoked a bird once. Only birdie on the day for him”

A Reddit user used the comments to narrate an experience he had in high school in a funny manner, “Skinned one in high school practice and took out a goose. Right in the side of the head.

There was a person who called himself to be a danger while playing golf, “The way I play golf, I’m a danger to wildlife.”

Another person hilariously recounted how he hit a cow and it moved, using a pun, “I hit a cow and it moo’d”
