Australian golfer Min Woo Lee’s recent performance in the Travelers Championship in America not only earned him a substantial prize money of $525,000 but also holds significant implications for his future in the sport. With his third top-10 finish of the season, Lee, aged 24, has secured a place on the PGA Tour for the next season.
The category of membership is yet to be determined. But his consistent success throughout the year indicates that he is on track to obtain full playing rights for 2024.
At present, he holds a temporary membership for the current season. What with good shows on the PGA tour and a high ranking on the DP World Tour, Lee’s path to securing full playing rights for 2024 seems clear.

Coach Ritchie Smith expresses confidence in Lee’s prospects. He anticipates a card for the upcoming season.
Lee’s rise and accumulation of non-member points
Lee’s recent success on the golf course has propelled him closer to his goal of PGA Tour membership. Following a finish in the top-20 at the PGA Championship, a tied sixth position at the Players Championship and a tie for fifth at the US Open, he continued his strong form where he carded four rounds in 60s at the TPC River Highlands in Cromwell, Connecticut.
He closed with a solid 67. Lee’s tied-ninth finish at the tournament bolstered his non-member points. This resulted in bringing him closer to earning his card for the 2024 season.
Guaranteed card and high status for Min Woo Lee
Ritchie Smith, Lee’s coach, wants the golfer to continue the good work since getting the card is just a matter of formality now. Being fifth on the DP World Tour is in itself sufficient for Lee to get a card.
“He knows he’s getting a card, but he doesn’t know what category,” said Smith.
“He’s not going to get many more US Tour starts this season, so he has to make the most of those. He has the Open Championship to come. I’d like to see him continue to play a bit in Europe. I’m a big believer in getting through each stage along the way. But he needs that constant influsion of confidence.” he added.
As per the current rules, the top 10 non-exempt players from the DP World Tour will be granted US Tour cards for the subsequent season.
