The golf world is progressing into Jack Nicklaus’ Memorial Tournament week. Prominent players such as Rory McIlroy, John Ram, Patrick Cantlay, are currently teeing it off at the Muirfield Village Golf Club. The purse for this esteemed event has been increased to $20 million as it becomes an elevated event. However, not everything might go in accordance with Jack Nicklaus’s plans this year.

During a press conference, when asked about “the Tour schedule,” the 73-time PGA Tour winner simply said, “Well, we don’t really know. I’m not sure what the schedule’s going to actually be.” Jack even admitted to having made premature predictions about the Tour’s schedule and said, “I opened my mouth too soon there at the Honda before they announced anything and they really haven’t announced anything, even yet.”
The golf legend stated that he might have upset the PGA commissioner, Jay Monahan with his uncalled announcement. Jack said that Monahan wasn’t happy with him because the Tour actually hadn’t made any decisions yet. When further asked about having a no-cut event next year, Jack replied, “They really haven’t finalized what’s happening here.”

Prior to his $20 million event, Jack comments on LIV players
Throughout his golfing career, the golden bear has been loyal to the PGA Tour. So much so that just days before his Memorial tournament, Jack Nicklaus made some harsh remarks on the former PGA players who paved the way towards LIV golf for higher paychecks. He said, “I think the guys who have stayed on the PGA Tour, for the most part, are guys who play golf for the game of golf.” Jack also went on to say that he as well always focused on the sport of golf and money was never an issue then.
