The Australian golf courses have never disappointed the community when it comes to a surprise intrusion from wildlife. Only last year, more than 300 eastern grey kangaroos were sighted at Anglesea Golf Club in Victoria. And now, a video has gone viral of two snakes just casually hanging out on a golf course.
NUCLR Golf shared a video on their X handle where two snakes were seen and assumed to be mating. However, they were not the only ones present on the golf course. According to Golf Junkie, Simon Byrne, who claims to be an ‘e-commerce marketing guy’, was playing at the St Lucia Golf Links when the two snakes were sighted, as Byrne was hitting golf balls only meters away. NUCLR Golf captioned the post, “These snakes show up on the first tee; what’s your move?”

Many people replied with hilarious first moves of their choice. Let us explore their honest reactions to the question they were asked.
The golf community has a hearty laugh over snakes on the greens
One of the fans stated, “Not much different than some Saturday pairings that I have had. Play on…” They implied the general symbolic and sarcastic annotation of snakes with golfers that they have paired with on the golf courses before. The fan also proceeded to suggest that they would not be intimated with such intrusions of snakes, literal and symbolic, and could easily continue with the game.
Several fans wrote that they might follow the golf calls of any other “Rain Check.” They would hence like to avoid being on the golf course with an excuse for bad weather instead of being near snakes.
Another fan commented, “Seriously… I’m leaving that course as fast as possible!! I don’t care what it costs; there is no way I’m staying and playing 🤣.🤣” Getting to play on the golf course is an expensive ordeal, but even a paid sum would not encourage them to play when there are snakes! No chances to be taken indeed!

Some other fans insinuated that sightings like this were not unusual. They wrote, “It’s this time of year we in Georgia don’t go looking for our ball if it lands in the high grass or trees.” The fan hinted at the mating season in Georgia and how finding a ball in long grass can be risky because you don’t know what you might find there.
One other fan confessed, “Leave the course and head to the airport.” This fan suggested that they would not only like to leave the golf course but would also leave the city! Someone else suggested that they would rather fight ‘a grizzly bear’ instead. They said, “I’d rather fist fight a grizzly bear than be within 10,000 miles of this.”
Yet another fan accepted that the mating snakes would not pose any harm. The fan said, “They are doing their thing; I would mind my own business.” They firmly believe that as long as the snakes do their ‘business’, one can play golf on the course without any disturbance.

Some other fans said, “Brandel will have lots of nasty opinions about this.” They believed that Brandel Chamblee, the golf commentator and analyst who is known for being brutally raw and honest with his opinion, would have many contributions if he indeed encountered such a sighting.
