Marketing is a creative industry and often those involved in it surprise the world with the way they think. Bold marketing strategies have made and destroyed brands and it’s a risky business for sure. Recently, a golf club has attempted to spice things up with their marketing efforts.

The golf club has put up a board advertising their golf lessons, and it has become a topic of discussion. A glimpse into the conversation can be a lesson in marketing in case you are not interested in golf lessons.

The Augusta Ranch Golf Club in Mesa, Arizona, has recently put up an advertisement for their golf lessons. The ad copy, posted by Fore Play, actually starts off as a cautionary notice at first. The signboard reads as follows, “Please aim your golf ball away from the houses.”

It then transforms into a solution for the problem mentioned. There is plenty of plug in it in regard to golf lessons. That makes one admire the advertising effort not a little. The ad further reads: “Don’t know how to aim? Golf lessons are cheaper than broken windows… Schedule a lesson today.”

The advertisement caught the attention of some enthusiastic golfers who occasionally, accidentally smash windows with their wayward swings. Naturally, they expressed their concerns about the same.

The commenters were funny, sarcastic, and mostly on point. The golf community usually has sensible commenters. Yes, sometimes they go a little out of bounds but largely they keep their wits about them. Let’s find out what kinds of comments came on the post by Fore Play.

Less is great but nothing is better

Most comments fell into two categories. Either they suggested people should pay more attention to where they buy a house, or they were laughing at how they have no obligation to pay for any damage.

Like this comment here, which cheekily points out how players don’t have any liability to their name over such incidents. “Golf lessons may be cheaper than a broken window, but I don’t have to pay for the broken window.”

This one couldn’t control their laughter as they refused to pay for broken windows. They also offered a brilliant suggestion. “Bro I ain’t paying for no windows, don’t f**king buy a house on a golf course🫃🏻🤣”

Here is an assertive and dominant commenter, writing with an air of authority. The comment sounds quite intimidating, to be honest. “You live on a golf course, I will break a window and you will like it Kathy!”

A pacifier stepped in to offer a solution to this issue. They must have a good sense of real estate. “Houses off the golf course are also cheaper.”

Someone cracked the mystery of the broken windows while still being sarcastic. “Some have poor control over tee shots, others have poor choice in home location.”

Here is a little story about how an innocent golfer got attacked for ‘no real reason.’ “I hit a ball into someone backyard last weekend and the women threw the ball at me. Not my fault you chose to live on a golf course.”

A wise soul calmly pointed out how the whole argument is missing one important aspect. Also, do American golf courses have insurance for such incidents? “Golf courses have insurance for these reasons. At least they do here in Canada.”
