What made Nelly Korda most excited about the TaylorMade Christmas shoot? Meeting Tiger Woods? Korda is a known Woods-stan. Remember the 2021 PNC Championship? A 22-year-old Korda slowly walked up toward the 15-time Major winner before timidly asking for a picture. It was a “dream come true” moment for the LPGA star.

Well, the 25-year-old was more impressed by another PGA Tour pro this time. Chatting with Claire Rogers of GOLF, Korda revealed she met all but one PGAT pro before the Christmas shoot. But it was her second meeting with Tommy Fleetwood that she was most excited about.

Korda pauses for a few seconds before heaping praise on his favorite British star. “I love Tommy. Like I love his game. And I just really like Tommy,” the smile kept getting wider on Korda’s face as she went on to shower praise on Fleetwood. The LPGA star’s admiration for the 32-year-old dates back to the Olympics.

Three years ago, in Tokyo, the eight-time LPGA Tour winner was too shy to ask Fleetwood for a photo. Mel Reid came to her rescue, eventually: “I was too shy to ask for a photo and Mel Reid went up to Tommy and told him that I really wanted to take a photo with him.

Tommy Fleetwood is not the guy to reject a photo request from another golfer. Grinning ear to ear, Korda admits, “So I actually have I got a photo with him at the Olympics.” Naturally, meeting the 2023 Ryder Cup winner for the second time was a treat. What about other pros present at the shoot, though?

Nelly Korda met Scottie Scheffler for the first time. The Olympic gold medalist revealed that World No. 1 lived up to the hype of being the nicest guy on Tour. And then, she “got to meet Tiger and obviously Rory [McIlroy] and the girls” she plays on Tour. Notably, TaylorMade offered her another chance to meet fellow golfers from the men’s circuit.

The 2021 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship winner has been with TaylorMade Golf for the past year. Last January, both parties formally announced their partnership, just a day after World No. 6 announced her tie-up with Nike. The financial aspects of the multi-year deal were not made available.
