PGA Tour legend John Daly has made several records in his career. The golfer is currently 56 years old and has no plans of retiring. Fans love the player for more than just his performances on the field. His non-country club appearance and his colorful pants have brought him a lot of attention from the fans.

However, there is another thing that differentiates Daly from most other golfers. And it has everything to do with one of his longtime habits – drinking. The golfer has been in several interviews where he has talked about his drinking problem. In fact, drinking 35-40 beers in one go is not at all an issue for the player.

During a a 2016 For The Win USA Today Sports interview, John Daly once opened up about how drinking became a part of his everyday life. And it got to an extent that he would often turn up on the field, well, hungover!

“I played a lot hungover. I played a few rounds where I was still drunk from the night before,” he said. “One time [during a PGA Tour event], I played the front nine, drank four Coors Lights at the turn, then shot like four or five under on the back nine and finished seventh on the tournament…those beers released all the pressure.”

Despite being a super-successful player on the most prestigious tour of America, John Daly likes to keep it simple. He talked about how his life is just like any other man from the US and that people could easily relate to him. And with that, he also admitted to making mistakes like everyone else.
