Although John Daly is beaten by many when it comes to the number of wins, very few can compete with his injury rate. The golfer has suffered numerous injuries throughout his career. Perhaps more than most people go through in their entire lives. And the astonishing part is that the golf great is still playing. Through all his injuries, he’s pulled through and found himself back on the course. His biggest scare, though, came in 2015, when he lost consciousness on the course.

John Daly passes out mid-step in his buddy’s arms
Long John was on a golf course in Mississippi with his friends when the incident occurred. Back in 2015, as per the Golf Channel, Daly spoke to SiriusXM PGA Tour radio and recalled the incident. He claimed he was on the course with his friend Will, with his arm around him, when everything went black.
Daly stated, “I’m walking off with my buddy Will and next thing I know… he just told me I just fell straight over.” The golf pro added that the next thing he remembered was a nurse talking to him. Daly claimed to have required CPR. “They did mouth-to-mouth and everything. I was probably gone for at least, I don’t know how long,” he said.
The PGA Tour veteran went on to explain that the incident occurred due to a rib injury that he had been suffering from since 2007. He went on to firmly point out that it was not because of his smoking habits. He said, “They thought I had a heart attack.” But I only smoke two packs of cigarettes a day, not three, so I’ll be alright.”

Back in 2007, the golf pro was playing at the Honda Classic. During the first round at the 12th hole, just as Daly swung his club, right at the top of his backswing, he heard a clicking sound. This caused him to immediately stop his swing mid-air. But the heavy hitter suffered dire consequences for doing so.
The sudden halt to his strong and fast motion left the pro with searing pain in his ribs and shoulder. As per CNN, back in 2007, he said, “I felt pain like I’ve never felt in my upper body.” Daly withdrew from the tournament immediately, and the injury went on to affect him for many years.
