Winning has always been a surreal moment for everyone. Of course, Corpuz is no exception. After her historic win, Golf.com shared her statement on its official Twitter account. In it, Corpuz shared her honest feelings and stated: “I never thought I would get this far.”

After her historic win, many congratulated her, including former US President Barack Obama. Her win was also significant since she became the first US citizen in seven years to win this coveted event. The last US champion was Brittany Lang in 2016. But Corpuz path to glory was not filled with roses. At one point, she was facing a penalty in the game. Move along!

During the final round of the 13th hole, Corpuz took more than 40 seconds to hit the shot. This led to a warning from the officials for slow play. As per the warning, one more slow-play situation and the LPGA star would have received a penalty. However, she didn’t lose her calm, and with the help of her caddie, she went out to provide the best performance of her career so far.
