Being a professional golfer requires a lot of hard work and determination. Like many, LPGA star Charley Hull also endured a lot of challenges to earn her Tour card. She began playing the sport she now masters from the age of two. Though Hull now boasts a promising career in golf, she once revealed the sacrifices she took to achieve her dreams.
Charley Hull turned pro back in 2013 at 16 years of age. After spending a decade in the LPGA, the British golfer has won six events. In order to be a good golfer, one has to have good golf skills and attributes, similar to that of Hull. However, knowledge regarding other subjects may be close to irrelevant once you earn your Tour card. During her appearance at the Bogeys Boys Golf Podcast two years ago, the LPGA star shared how she never learned any other subjects.
“I just didn’t I got to do Maths, English and Science”, said Hull. She added, “I’m not very good at spelling and I’m not very good at counting”. Nonetheless, to be a great golfer, you don’t have to be good at counting or spelling, and Charley Hull is aware of that. “You don’t have to be to golf”, she said while referring to her lack of knowledge in other subjects.
However, the then-24-year-old did reveal that she had a soft spot for Science. She said, “I like science. I find it interesting”. But Hull also accepted of never completing GCSE as she left school at the age of 13 and instead began competing in amateur golf. While the decision may have been challenging for her at the time, the LPGA star has stuck with her desire to find glory in the professional circuit.
After sacrificing most of her school life in order to pursue a life in professional golf, Charley finally succeeded. With six wins in her resume, has the British golfer ever won a Major in her decade-long career?
