LIV Golf has gathered some of the most talented players in the golf community. But some well-known golfers still stand strong with the former PGA Tour and are not happy with the ongoing transition. One such PGA Tour loyalist is Rory Mcilroy, who recently kept forward his views about the current golf situation.

Rory McIlroy speaks boldly about LIV Golf rebels

McIlroy is one of the few players who have decided to stick to the PGA. The PGA Tour professional recently spoke his heart out at the Tour Championship press conference after winning the tournament. It was his third FedEx Cup win since 2016, but there were other things that the golfer had to talk about in the media interaction.

The reporter asked McIlroy if it felt like a burden to him being the “loudest voice” on the PGA Tour as well as in the world of golf. But the golfer’s reply went on about the current situation of the golf community with new players switching to LIV Golf now and then. He said, “I hate what it’s doing to the game of golf. I hate it. I really do. Like it’s going to be hard for me to stomach going to Wentworth in a couple of weeks’ time and seeing 18 of them there. That just doesn’t sit right with me.”

McIlroy is one of the top players in the world today. And for him to feel this way about the current conditions of the sport, is something worth worrying about. Lots of players have been suggesting a merger between the two leagues, but most of them belong to the LIV Golf league. Nonetheless, the chances of a merger between the tours are null as of now.

What does McIlroy think about his golfing skills?

A reporter asked McIlroy how the year had been for him after everything that has been going on in golf. To everyone’s surprise, McIlroy sounded pretty confident about his game as well as his golfing skills after winning the tournament. He said“I know that my best stuff is good enough to win any tournament against anybody on any golf course.”

McIlroy has been managing to beat the best players on the tour. From beating the 2019 World No. 1, Brooks Koepka, in the same year to beating current World No. 1, Scottie Scheffler, this year, McIlroy has proven his abilities to his fans. But he is definitely not happy to see his old fellow golfer in the rival league.
