However, similar to Lefty’s situation, a famous American actor and comedian once had to play the role of a golfer in a movie. And after actually developing interest in the game, fans won’t let him take the game seriously.
American actor Adam Sandler explains his hilarious golf struggles
American comedian, actor, screenwriter, producer, singer, and musician Adam Sandler clearly has many talents. However, other than everything he does for movies and TV, Sandler he’s developed a strong love for golf. The actor once played a golfer in a movie called ‘Happy Gilmore’. Sandler’s character gets rejected to be a golfer in the film, but still has to showcase his skills to save his grandmother’s house.

Little did he know that the movie would result in him developing an actual interest in the sport. However, his funny role in the movie has left a hilarious impression of him on the fans. And no matter how much he wants to play golf properly, fans don’t seem to accept it.
In a recent video posted by golftrending, Sandler explained how he is so much into golf now. The actor cum golfer has a golf handicap of around 16 according to sources. However, despite his growing talent on the field, he is forced to do something he would prefer not to. When asked if fans expect him to act like Happy Gilmore, he affirmed it.

“I have to – I get called out literally,” he said. “If I go to a new place, it’s a guarantee on the opening tee… I mean it’s just, people come forward and they’re like looking and I’m like I gotta do THIS.” But known for his brilliance on the screen, Sandler would do anything for his fans. “I do the Gilmore swing and move on,” Sandler said.

Currently, in his 50s, Sandler loves spending time on the field now and then. And his film ‘Happy Gilmore’ was released all the way back in 1996. However, it is safe to say that the comedian has been highly entertaining golf fans with the incomparable ‘Gilmore Swing’ all these years.
