Tiger Woods had everything; he had established himself as the greatest golfer of all time, found millions-worth companies to endorse him, and had a great family with a beautiful wife and two children. However, everything went downhill after a scandal involving him, and other women broke out by the end of 2009. The scandal made him lose fans and most of the brand endorsements. Moreover, it broke his relationship with his then-wife, Elin Nordegren. To save his marriage, the golfer reportedly sought treatment from a private clinic. However, the damage had already been done.
Elin Nordegren lost faith in everyone following the scandal
Multiple media outlets reported that the Tour legend had been involved in extra-marital relationships with multiple women in 2009. And his wife at the time, the ex-Swedish model Elin Nordegren, claimed that she knew nothing about it.

“I felt stupid as more things were revealed,” she said at the time, according to abcnews.go.com. She couldn’t help but question herself, “how could I not have known anything?”
The situation put Nordegren in a difficult position. She started losing faith in everyone around her after the scandal. “The word ‘betrayal’ isn’t strong enough. I felt embarrassed for having been so deceived,” the mother of two said. “I felt betrayed by many people around me,” she added.
Notably, the couple’s relationship broke into pieces as an after-effect of the infamous incident of 2009, despite trying hard to work on it. Both Woods and Nordgren wanted to stay in the marriage for their children- Sam Alexis and Charlie Axel Woods.
However, the couple couldn’t find peace and eventually decided to get a divorce. Notably, the golfer and his ex-wife decided to co-parent their children so they won’t feel less love from either of their parents.
Tiger Woods remained friends with his ex-wife following their divorce
Usually, the couple tends to see less of each other after their divorce. However, in the case of Tiger Woods and Elin Nordegren, it was quite the opposite. When he appeared as a guest on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, the 15-time major champion revealed that he considers his ex-wife a best friend now, and vice versa.
