The golf world is under deep waters. With the constant disagreement between LIV Golf and the PGA Tour. There is barely any rest to it. The merger was expected to make things simple but it hasn’t seen daylight yet. Now, one individual might have successfully distracted the golf community with his humor.

“It’s a sport of gods, but it’s played by mortals,” said American comedian Katt Williams earlier this year. Well, he has always had a deep-rooted passion for the game, and for him, it is more than just a hobby. When he appeared in an interview with Shannon Sharpe on her podcast Club Shay Shay, he shared how the sport has impacted his life and taught him so many life lessons.  Williams explained.

In May, he also spoke to the official PGA Tour channel and shared his unique take on the sport.  “Golf is this thing where eighteen times they set you up with the challenge, and they put obstacles and hazards in the way, and you have to try to navigate your way safely and try to do as much as you can. But you learn that if you do more than you can, you can’t do that. And there will be things that happen, and so all of the things that I like about life in general,” said Williams.

He also went on to add how he does everything he enjoys at the golf course. “I drink out here; I smoke out here. I whistle out here; I look at nature. All the things that mean something to me.” Katt Williams believes that golf helps in imbibing daily lessons in an individual, which can be used on a day-to-day basis.

Golf requires you to experience all those beautiful things, but then every shot requires you to block all of that out and just focus on the task at hand. And you don’t have the opportunity to do it again. You’re gonna do it once, and you’re gonna live with how that works out. If you can get that one on the golf course, you can translate that everywhere,” he added. Williams concluded by saying that for that one true goal, you cannot be too high or too low. It is always important to stay completely focused.

Katt Williams is so much in love with golf that he is not only spotted swinging his clubs here and there. But the American comedian is also sometimes invited as a guest to certain events.

Katt Williams appears at the FedEx Cup Playoffs

Katt Williams made a surprise appearance at the 2024 FedEx St. Jude Championship, bringing a touch of humor to the first FedEx Cup playoff event. Williams was spotted at TPC Southwind during the tournament’s third round, adding an unexpected and lighthearted moment to the proceedings. Known for his roles in films like Friday After Next and his appearances on Wild ‘n Out, Williams was seen walking along the ninth hole, casually following top golfers including Viktor Hovland, Billy Horschel, and Scottie Scheffler.

He also interacted with the fans on the course and gave a comic perspective on the sport into a microphone. This managed to garner a lot of attention to the event, and, well, of course, Williams himself was over the moon since he got to do what he loved! He engaged in some live commentary at the Tour Championship as well and took it upon himself to let the audience at home know how it was at the East Lake GC.

“For the people at home, East Lake [Golf Club] looks exactly like the video game. It’s pristine out here. Folks, these golfers are huge, by the way. Everyone’s six foot five. Someone probable called me in as a putter. I’m always ready.”
