In its first event since the Masters, inclement weather hit the PGA Tour on the opening day of the RBC Heritage. Numerous golfers were left stranded by a sudden change in schedule, which provided nearly 24-hour relief for many. But what crossed Joel Dahmen’s mind about his chores on the unexpected holiday?

Joel Dahmen reveals his afternoon plans after RBC Heritage’s delay

The 35-year-old golfer was unable to participate in the prestigious Masters Tournament, which must have fueled his energy toward the RBC Heritage. However, he was left waiting after round timings were rescheduled following bad weather, which left him doing nothing.

In a press conference later on, Dahmen was asked about his plans for the day off. Being on an island at the Harbour Town Golf Links in South Carolina, would the golfer mind taking a seat back and relaxing on the beach?

“Yeah, I’m pretty good at that,” Dahmen said about the kick back. “Although, I don’t kick back as much anymore because I have a 3-month-old at home,” he said.

The University of Washington alum revealed that he would rather spend some time with his young one. “Hopefully, nap would be awesome. Hopefully, get the child to nap, and then I’ll nap, and then we’ll go from there,” he said.

Despite the weather-inflicted troubles, Dahmen was able to manage a decent performance in his opening round. The 35-year-old shot five-under-par, which placed him in the higher echelons of the table.

At the time of writing, Dahmen was finished with his round and remained tied for fifth place in the standings.

The golfer would look to maintain a steady ship on his impressive start, something which he has failed to hold upon this year. Despite numerous appearances, Dahmen has zero finishes in the top 30 this season. His best rank remains a T41 at the AT&T Pebble Beach back in February.
