It is rare to see anyone who hasn’t dreamt of being a social media influencer these days. While the public can only see the good part of being famous, there are some negative aspects to it. And the former professional golfer turned online influencer, Paige Spiranac, has constantly been facing the dark side of the job, which made her open up about how it affects her life.
“I enjoy my job so much,” the 29-year-old said. “But there are times where I don’t enjoy it.” She revealed how being a public personality affects her day-to-day life during the latest episode of her podcast, ‘Playing a Round with Paige Renee.’

According to Spiranac, she receives threatening messages from those who have been scammed by people who create fake profiles using her name. “I’m in this constant state of anxiety because of this reason,” she added.
Furthermore, she explained how she wouldn’t be able to travel anywhere alone or else her life would be in danger. “I can never be alone,” the retired pro-golfer said. “I’m scared to leave my place,” she further stated.

In the latest episode, ‘ACC & The Open,’ of her podcast, Spiranac revealed that she just played at the 2022 American Century Championship at Edgewood Tahoe South. While she didn’t face any problems on the first two days of the event, the third day didn’t go as smoothly as she wanted to.

According to Spiranac, a man walked up to her on the final day of the competition and asked for a picture. He then claimed that she scammed him and looted $10000 from him. It turns out that a fraudster used her name to make a fake profile online to scam this person.
There is also a fake Instagram under the name of _paige.spiranac that has been made. Don't follow it! It's fake.

In the end, her agent and the golf club officials helped her out of the situation. “He was unhinged,” she added. “It was a scary situation.” Furthermore, Spiranac explained that the incident led her to perform poorly at the competition.

The 2022 American Century Championship
The Edgewood Tahoe South hosted the 2022 American Century Championship from July 8 to 10. The 54-hole event was a celebrity golf event. However, the ACC featured many good players, including the golf legend Annika Sorenstam, and the no. 1 golfer in NBA, Stephen Curry.

The former QB of Dallas Cowboys, Tony Romo, ended up winning the event. Meanwhile, despite her experiences at the event, Paige Spiranac finished with T24 in an 87-player field.

Creating fake profiles and scamming people is a legal offense. Yet, it is mow very common online, and people still fall for it. Spiranac has been affected by these fraudsters a lot, and she is scared for her safety.
