‘I Don’t Approve of It’: Playboy Founder Gravely Condemned Tiger Woods for His Infamous Personal Altercation In 2009

The greatest golfer of all time, Tiger Woods, has had his golden years. However, the good times immediately ended when the media highlighted his alleged scandal in 2009. People who idolized Woods for his hard work and dedication despised the golfer. No one could believe the deeds of the golfer. Many people worldwide gave him the title of ‘playboy.’ However, the founder of Playboy magazine also had his views on the case.

Everything fell apart in Woods’ life after the secret was unveiled. In 2010, his former wife, Elin Nordegren, separated from him and took the kids with her. And it was years after the incident when people were still talking about the scandal. However, in 2016, the late Hugh Hefner (Playboy founder) finally broke his silence and cleared people’s doubts worldwide.

The secret of Tiger Woods did not surprise Hefner. Why?

Everyone thought that Hefner was supporting Woods in the alleged scandal. However, he broke his silence and laid out facts in 2016. He cleared out that the scandal news did not surprise him. It never meant that he was supporting him. Hefner talked to Tarts at the release of Benedikt Taschen’s “Illustrated Autobiography: Hugh Hefner’s Playboy. He explained and said, “But I don’t approve of it. I just was not surprised by it.”

Stating the reason for not being surprised, he said, “He’s a handsome young guy, and beautiful ladies are throwing themselves at him.” Hefner also said that no one knows what was happening between the people bound by vows. There was no way to tell how their relationship was. Therefore, sometimes, such incidents could take place. He said, “You never know the circumstances of a personal relationship or a marriage and how well it worked, and I think that the immorality of infidelity is the lie. It isn’t really the s**. It’s the cheating.”

However, it has been a long time since the alleged scandal became the talk of the town. It ruptured the pro golfer’s life, and he lost many endorsement deals too. But Crystal Harris, Hefner’s then girlfriend (and wife 2012-2017), also stated her views. According to her, it was a long ago, and people should have stopped talking about the incident. However, she also mentioned that Woods was at fault. He messed up his marriage, and the media gave too much attention to the case.
